How can a small business ship parcels abroad at negotiated rates?
Express carriers grant discounts based on the volume shipped. By working with a freight forwarder like OVRSEA, your shipments benefit from rates negotiated on the combined volumes of all its clients, with no volume commitment on your side, even with a few shipments a month.
What is the difference between an international courier and a freight forwarder?
An international courier such as DHL, FedEx or UPS sells its own services on its own network. A freight forwarder organizes the transport for you: it compares several carriers, prepares the formalities and handles incidents. OVRSEA shows you offers from DHL Express, FedEx and UPS in a single request, and remains your single point of contact.
What kinds of shipments does OVRSEA handle?
Documents, parcels and small pallets, with DHL Express, FedEx and UPS. A single shipment can include several parcels. We check each carrier's weight and size limits on your request and, for a heavier shipment, compare it with standard air freight.
How long does a parcel take by express or economy?
The indicative transit time is 24 to 48 hours by express and up to 8 days by economy, excluding customs clearance. By express, the transit time is guaranteed depending on the service; by economy, it is not. Exact transit times depend on the origin and destination.
Who pays the duties on a parcel shipped outside the European Union?
Under DAP, the recipient pays duties and taxes on delivery. Under DDP, the sender pays them: OVRSEA then advances the duties and re-invoices them to you at cost, and your recipient receives the parcel without paying anything. DDP keeps a customer or prospect from refusing a parcel because of unexpected charges.
Can you ship perfumes or products with lithium batteries?
Yes, with FedEx International Priority, after a prior check. These products are dangerous goods in air transport: before accepting the shipment, we check their class, the safety data sheet, the packaging, the marking and the shipper's declaration.

What happens in case of delay, damage or loss?
OVRSEA deals with the carrier: we open the claim and follow it through to resolution. For high-value goods, insurance can be added to the booking, since the carrier's liability is limited.
