Shipments without a recorded critical incident

Recent shipments are not all complete. Incidents may be recorded later, so the share without a recorded critical incident may decrease.

Incidents

Incidents included in the measure.

Lost or damaged cargo, a delayed departure, a customs or documentation issue: the events below are included when assessed as critical for the client. Risks of disruption remain included even when resolved before causing a delay or an additional charge.

Events covered

Cargo
Lost, stolen or damaged cargo.
Customs
Customs inspection.
Documents
Unapproved dangerous goods declaration, inconsistent customs information or missing cargo release authorization.
Freight booking
A new freight booking required.
Pre- or on-carriage
Reorganisation of transport before or after the main leg.
Rollover or cargo split
Cargo moved to a later departure or split across multiple departures.
Supplier dispute
A dispute over a supplier’s payment or invoice.

Reading the indicator

The percentage shows the share of shipments created in the quarter without a recorded critical incident. Each shipment counts once, even if several incidents occur.

Equivalent to 2.6 % of shipments with at least one recorded critical incident in Q2 2026.

Scope

Critical incidents are included regardless of their cause, including those linked to strikes or weather. Inclusion does not establish OVRSEA’s responsibility.

Method

Definitions and calculation method.

The indicators cover different populations. Read each with its own period and definition.

How should client ratings be read?

We measure positive ratings as a share of ratings collected after shipment. This describes the feedback received, not all clients or shipments.

What does "handled within 30 business minutes" mean?

The measure uses response time or, when no response is recorded, acknowledgement time. Acknowledgement does not mean the request has been resolved.

Which shipments are counted for incidents?

Criticality is assessed case by case by the teams responsible for the shipment. Open and closed incidents are included. Shipments are assigned to their creation quarter and counted once. Incidents reported later may change the results.

Why are some periods not directly comparable?

The available data does not provide consistent quarterly coverage for Q1 and Q2 2025. The history of this indicator therefore starts in Q3 2025. Recording practices may change over time.

How are results presented?

The main view covers four completed quarters. The current quarter is shown separately. Values are rounded to one decimal place; shipment-level data and volumes remain confidential.

Results also show up in everyday operations.

OVRSEA clients share their experience of the support and shipment monitoring provided by our teams.
