What is Ad Valorem insurance?
Ad Valorem insurance is cargo insurance taken out on each shipment that offers compensation based on the value of your goods, which is typically much higher than what the carrier is legally obligated to pay.

8.33 SDR * per kilogram of gross weight of missing or damaged goods.
Aerial
22 SDR per kilogram of gross weight of missing or damaged goods, in addition to damage/loss compensation.
Maritime
666.67 SDR per package/unit or 2 SDR per kilogram of gross weight of mission or damaged goods, whichever is greater.
Rail
17 SDR per kilogram of gross weight of mission or damaged goods.

What is the cost of Ad Valorem insurance?
The cost of Ad Valorem insurance is calculated based on the declared value of the goods, their nature, as well as the departure and destination points of transportation.
This cost is minimal, however, in comparison to the actual value of the goods and the potential compensation in case of damage, making it a very cost-effective addition.

How do I take out an Ad Valorem insurance policy?
Simple: when you request a quote or a new shipment, check the box that says “I would like to add insurance” and specify the actual value of your goods.
